The Truth Shall Make You Free

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you ^(A)abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

^4 (A)Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

⁵ “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much ^(B)fruit; for without Me you can do ^(C)nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not abide in Me, ^(D)he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you abide in Me, and My words ^(E)abide in you, ^(F)you^[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

^10 (A)If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

^6 (A)He who says he abides in Him ^(B)ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

^10 (A)He who loves his brother abides in the light, and ^(B)there is no cause for stumbling in him.

The Children of God

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in Him, that ^[a]when He appears, we may have ^(A)confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

⁶ Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

²⁰ And we know that the ^(A)Son of God has come and ^(B)has given us an understanding, ^(C)that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. ^(D)This is the true God ^(E)and eternal life.

^9 (A)Whoever ^[a]transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
