²¹ So he said to them again, ^(A)“I am going away, and ^(B)you will seek me, and ^(C)you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.” ²² So the Jews said, ^(D)“Will he kill himself, since he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”

⁵ And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: ^(A)from every beast I will require it and ^(B)from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

^18 (A)If I say to the wicked, ^(B)‘You shall surely die,’ ^(C)and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person ^(D)shall die for^[a] his iniquity, ^(E)but his blood I will require at your hand. ^19 (F)But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, ^(G)but you ^(H)will have delivered your soul.

¹⁸ As for his father, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother, and did what is not good among his people, ^(A)behold, he shall die for his iniquity.
