¹⁸ I am One who bears witness of Myself, and ^(A)the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me.”

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)before Abraham was, ^(B)I AM.”

⁵¹ Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

^38 (A)I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have ^[a]seen with your father.”

¹⁷ And ^(A)when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But ^(B)He laid His right hand on me, saying ^[a]to me, “Do not be afraid; ^(C)I am the First and the Last. ^18 (D)I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, ^(E)I am alive forevermore. Amen. And ^(F)I have the keys of ^[b]Hades and of Death.

The Certainty of God’s Witness

⁶ This is He who came ^(A)by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. ^(B)And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. ⁷ For there are three that bear witness ^[a]in heaven: the Father, ^(C)the Word, and the Holy Spirit; ^(D)and these three are one. ⁸ And there are three that bear witness on earth: ^(E)the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

⁹ If we receive ^(F)the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; ^(G)for this is the witness of ^[b]God which He has testified of His Son. ¹⁰ He who believes in the Son of God ^(H)has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God ^(I)has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ^12 (J)He who has the Son has ^[c]life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

^4 (A)God also bearing witness ^(B)both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and ^(C)gifts^[a] of the Holy Spirit, ^(D)according to His own will?

⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am ^(A)the way, ^(B)the truth, and ^(C)the life. ^(D)No one comes to the Father ^(E)except through Me.

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd; and ^(A)I know My sheep, and ^(B)am known by My own.
