¹⁴ Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness about myself, ^(A)my testimony is true, for I know ^(B)where I came from and ^(C)where I am going, but ^(D)you do not know where I come from or where I am going.

^28 (A)I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now ^(B)I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”

³ Jesus, knowing ^(A)that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that ^(B)he had come from God and ^(C)was going back to God,

¹⁰ Do you not believe that ^(A)I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you ^(B)I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.

⁴² Jesus said to them, ^(A)“If God were your Father, you would love me, for ^(B)I came from God and ^(C)I am here. ^(D)I came not of my own accord, but ^(E)he sent me.

To the Church in Laodicea

¹⁴ “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the ^(A)Amen, ^(B)the faithful and true witness, ^(C)the beginning of God's creation.

¹⁹ Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? It is ^(A)in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ, and ^(B)all for your upbuilding, beloved.

Concern for the Corinthian Church

^11 (A)I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was ^(B)not at all inferior to these super-apostles, ^(C)even though I am nothing.

^31 (A)The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, ^(B)he who is blessed forever, ^(C)knows that I am not lying.
