Officials Sent to Arrest Jesus

32 The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning Him. So the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.

33 Then Jesus said to them, “I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me. 34 You will look for Me and you will not find Me. And where I am, you cannot come.”

35 The Jews said among themselves, “Where does He intend to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks? 36 What kind of saying is this which He said, ‘You will look for Me and you will not find Me. And where I am, you cannot come’? ”

32 The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers in order to take him into custody .[a] 33 Then Jesus said, “Yet a little time I am with you, and I am going to the one who sent me. 34 You will seek me and will not find me,[b][c] and where I am, you cannot come.”

35 So the Jews said to one another, “Where is this one going to go, that we will not find him? He is not going to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks, is he?[d] 36 What is this saying that he said, ‘You will seek me and will not find me,[e][f] and where I am, you cannot come’?”
