25 So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill? 26 And look, He is speaking openly, and they are saying nothing to Him. (A)Do the rulers truly know that this is the [a]Christ? 27 However, (B)we know where this man is from; but whenever the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from.” 28 Then Jesus cried out in the temple, (C)teaching and saying, (D)You both know Me and know where I am from; and (E)I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. 29 (F)I know Him, because (G)I am from Him, and (H)He sent Me.” 30 So they (I)were seeking to seize Him; [b]yet no man laid his hand on Him, because His (J)hour had not yet come. 31 But (K)many of the crowd believed in Him; and they were saying, “(L)When the [c]Christ comes, will He do more [d](M)signs than this man did?”

Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Messiah?[a] 27 Yet we know where this man is from, but when the Messiah[b] comes no one will know where he is from.”(A) 28 Then Jesus cried out as he was teaching in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I am from. I have not come on my own. But the one who sent me is true, and you do not know him.(B) 29 I know him because I am from him, and he sent me.”(C) 30 Then they tried to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him because his hour had not yet come.(D) 31 Yet many in the crowd believed in him and were saying, “When the Messiah[c] comes, will he do more signs than this man has done?”[d](E)
