⁴⁸ Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?

Walk in the Light

⁴² Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but ^(A)because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue;

⁸ which none of the rulers of this age knew; for ^(A)had they known, they would not have ^(B)crucified the Lord of glory.

^20 (A)Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the ^[a]disputer of this age? ^(B)Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

²⁶ But look! He speaks boldly, and they say nothing to Him. ^(A)Do the rulers know indeed that this is ^[a]truly the Christ?

²² For ^(A)Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; ²³ but we preach Christ crucified, ^(B)to the Jews a ^[a]stumbling block and to the ^[b]Greeks ^(C)foolishness, ²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ ^(D)the power of God and ^(E)the wisdom of God. ²⁵ Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Glory Only in the Lord

²⁶ For ^[c]you see your calling, brethren, ^(F)that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many ^[d]noble, are called. ²⁷ But ^(G)God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; ²⁸ and the ^[e]base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

⁷ Then ^(A)the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many ^(B)of the priests were obedient to the faith.
