38 (A)He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, (B)out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 (C)But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those [a]believing in Him would receive; for the [b]Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet (D)glorified.
Who Is He?
40 Therefore [c]many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is (E)the Prophet.” 41 Others said, “This is (F)the Christ.”
But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee? 42 (G)Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, (H)where David was?”

New International Version
38 Whoever believes(A) in me, as Scripture has said,(B) rivers of living water(C) will flow from within them.”[a](D) 39 By this he meant the Spirit,(E) whom those who believed in him were later to receive.(F) Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.(G)
40 On hearing his words, some of the people said, “Surely this man is the Prophet.”(H)
41 Others said, “He is the Messiah.”
Still others asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee?(I) 42 Does not Scripture say that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants(J) and from Bethlehem,(K) the town where David lived?”
