²³ If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, ^(A)are you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man's whole body well?

¹⁴ Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! ^(A)Sin no more, ^(B)that nothing worse may happen to you.” ¹⁵ The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. ¹⁶ And this was why the Jews ^(C)were persecuting Jesus, ^(D)because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.

⁵ Or have you not read ^(A)in the Law how on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless?

² But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, ^(A)“Look, your disciples are doing ^(B)what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

⁸ Jesus said to him, ^(A)“Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” ^9 (B)And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.

^(C)Now that day was the Sabbath.
