66 From this time many of his disciples(A) turned back and no longer followed him.

67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.(B)

68 Simon Peter answered him,(C) “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.(D) 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”(E)

70 Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you,(F) the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”(G) 71 (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot,(H) who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)(I)

68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Besides, we have believed and remain convinced that you are the Holy One of God.”[c]

70 Jesus answered them, “I chose you, the Twelve, didn’t I? Yet one of you is a devil.” 71 Now he was speaking about Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot,[d] because this man was going to betray him, even though he was one of the Twelve.
