⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, ^(A)“Did I not choose you, the twelve, ^(B)and one of you is a devil?”

^27 (A)Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”

² And ^[a]supper being ended, ^(A)the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him,

¹² While I was with them ^[a]in the world, ^(A)I kept them in ^[b]Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and ^(B)none of them is ^[c]lost ^(C)except the son of ^[d]perdition, ^(D)that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

Jesus Identifies His Betrayer^(A)

¹⁸ “I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the ^(B)Scripture may be fulfilled, ^(C)‘He who eats ^[a]bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.’

⁶⁴ But ^(A)there are some of you who do not believe.” For ^(B)Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.

⁹ Indeed I will make ^(A)those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed ^(B)I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. ¹⁰ Because you have kept ^[a]My command to persevere, ^(C)I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon ^(D)the whole world, to test those who dwell ^(E)on the earth.

^8 (A)He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, ^(B)that He might destroy the works of the devil.

¹¹ Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not ^[a]slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
