^69 (A)Also we have come to believe and know that You are the ^[a]Christ, the Son of the living God.”

²⁷ She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, ^(A)I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

²⁰ He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

^(A)Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”

²⁹ He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered and said to Him, ^(A)“You are the Christ.”

Obedience by Faith

5 Whoever believes that ^(A)Jesus is the Christ is ^(B)born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.

²⁰ And we know that the ^(A)Son of God has come and ^(B)has given us an understanding, ^(C)that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. ^(D)This is the true God ^(E)and eternal life.

³ concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who ^[a]was ^(A)born of the seed of David according to the flesh,

^31 (A)but these are written that ^(B)you may believe that Jesus ^(C)is the Christ, the Son of God, ^(D)and that believing you may have life in His name.

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

⁴⁵ Philip found ^(A)Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom ^(B)Moses in the law, and also the ^(C)prophets, wrote—Jesus ^(D)of Nazareth, the ^(E)son of Joseph.”

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, ^(F)“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, ^(G)an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”
