⁵⁴ Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day,^(A)

³⁹ And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me but raise it up on the last day.^{(A) 40} This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day.”^(B)

⁷ Yet whatever gains I had, these I have come to regard as loss because of Christ.^{(A) 8} More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ^{(B) 9} and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law but one that comes through faith in Christ,^[a] the righteousness from God based on faith.^{(C) 10} I want to know Christ^[b] and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death,

²⁰ and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God,^[a] who loved me and gave himself for me.^(A)

⁶³ It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

⁴⁷ Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life.^(A)

²⁷ Do not work for the food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal.”^(A)

¹⁴ but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.”^(A)
