^5 (A)Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to ^(B)Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”

^12 (A)When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

¹³ But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.”

And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.”

² “I have ^(A)compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. ³ And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.”

⁴ Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?”

^33 (A)Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?”

¹⁴ And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He ^(A)was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. ^15 (B)When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.”

³⁵ Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes ^(A)the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, ^(B)for they are already white for harvest!

Philip and Nathanael

⁴³ The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found ^(A)Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.”

^34 (A)And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like ^(B)sheep not having a shepherd. So ^(C)He began to teach them many things. ^35 (D)When the day was now far spent, His disciples came to Him and said, “This is a deserted place, and already the hour is late.
