^48 (A)I am the bread of life.

⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(A)which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and ^(B)the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

^16 (A)The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the ^[a]communion of the blood of Christ? ^(B)The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? ¹⁷ For ^(C)we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.

²⁴ and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ^[a]“Take, eat; this is My body which is ^[b]broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” ²⁵ In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

³³ For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

^34 (A)Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”

³⁵ And Jesus said to them, ^(B)“I am the bread of life. ^(C)He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never ^(D)thirst.

⁴¹ The Jews then ^[a]complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.”
