¹⁹ So when they had rowed about ^[a]three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were ^(A)afraid.

⁴⁷ Now when evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea; and He was alone on the land. ⁴⁸ Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and ^(A)would have passed them by. ⁴⁹ And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ^(B)ghost, and cried out;

²⁵ Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. ²⁶ And when the disciples saw Him ^(A)walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.

^18 (A)I will not leave you orphans; ^(B)I will come to you.

¹³ Nevertheless the men rowed hard to return to land, ^(A)but they could not, for the sea continued to grow more tempestuous against them.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples^(A)

^36 (B)Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” ³⁷ But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen ^(C)a spirit. ³⁸ And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? ³⁹ Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. ^(D)Handle Me and see, for a ^(E)spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”
