14 When the people saw the sign that he had done, they began to say, “This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world.”
15 When Jesus realized that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, he withdrew again to the mountain by himself.
Jesus Walks on the Water
16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, 17 got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles,[a] they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terrified. 20 But he said to them, “It is I;[b] do not be afraid.” 21 Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land toward which they were going.
The Bread from Heaven
22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea saw that there had been only one boat there. They also saw that Jesus had not got into the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone. 23 Then some boats from Tiberias came near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.[c] 24 So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” 26 Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. 27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal.”

16 (A)Quando fu sera, i suoi discepoli scesero al mare 17 e, montati in una barca[b], si diressero all’altra riva, verso Capernaum. Era già buio e Gesù non era ancora[c] venuto presso di loro. 18 Il mare era agitato, perché tirava un forte vento. 19 Come ebbero remato per circa venticinque o trenta stadi[d], videro Gesù camminare sul mare e accostarsi alla barca; ed ebbero paura. 20 Ma egli disse loro: «Sono io[e], non temete». 21 Essi dunque lo vollero prendere nella barca, e subito la barca toccò terra là dove erano diretti.

15 Da nun Jesus erkannte, dass sie kommen würden, um ihn mit Gewalt zum König zu machen, zog er sich wiederum auf den Berg zurück, er allein.
Jesus geht auf dem See
16 Als es aber Abend geworden war, gingen seine Jünger hinab an den See,
17 und sie stiegen in das Schiff und fuhren über den See nach Kapernaum. Und es war schon finster geworden, und Jesus war nicht zu ihnen gekommen.
18 Und der See ging hoch, da ein starker Wind wehte.
19 Als sie nun ungefähr 25 oder 30 Stadien gerudert hatten, sahen sie Jesus auf dem See gehen und sich dem Schiff nähern; und sie fürchteten sich.
20 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Ich bin"s, fürchtet euch nicht!
21 Da wollten sie ihn in das Schiff nehmen, und sogleich war das Schiff am Land, wohin sie fahren wollten.

22 Am folgenden Tag, als die Volksmenge, die am jenseitigen Ufer des Sees stand, gesehen hatte, dass kein anderes Schiff dort war, als nur das eine, in welches seine Jünger gestiegen waren, und dass Jesus nicht mit seinen Jüngern in das Schiff gestiegen war, sondern dass seine Jünger allein abgefahren waren,
23 (es kamen aber andere Schiffe von Tiberias nahe an den Ort, wo sie das Brot gegessen hatten nach der Danksagung des Herrn)
24 — da also die Volksmenge sah, dass Jesus nicht dort war, auch nicht seine Jünger, stiegen auch sie in die Schiffe und kamen nach Kapernaum und suchten Jesus.
25 Und als sie ihn am anderen Ufer des Sees fanden, sprachen sie zu ihm: Rabbi, wann bist du hierher gekommen?
26 Jesus antwortete ihnen und sprach: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ihr sucht mich nicht deshalb, weil ihr Zeichen gesehen, sondern weil ihr von den Broten gegessen habt und satt geworden seid.

14 Az emberek látták ezt a csodát, amelyet Jézus tett, és ezt mondták: „Biztosan ő az a Próféta,[a] akinek el kellett jönnie!”
15 Jézus észrevette, hogy az emberek már-már meg akarják ragadni, hogy akár erőszakkal is királlyá tegyék. Ezért ismét félrevonult tőlük, és elment a hegyek közé egyedül.

16 Estefelé a tanítványok lementek a tóhoz, 17 beszálltak egy halászbárkába, és elindultak a túlsó partra, Kapernaum felé. Már besötétedett, de Jézus még mindig nem jött vissza hozzájuk. 18 Erős szél fújt, és egyre nagyobb hullámok támadtak a tavon. Már vagy öt-hat kilométerre eltávolodtak a parttól, 19 amikor meglátták Jézust, amint a vízen járva közeledett hozzájuk. 15 Mais Jésus, sachant qu’ils allaient l’enlever de force pour le proclamer roi, se retira de nouveau, tout seul, dans la montagne.
Jésus marche sur les eaux(A)
16 A la tombée de la nuit, ses disciples redescendirent au bord du lac. 17 Ils montèrent dans un bateau et se dirigèrent vers Capernaüm, sur l’autre rive. Il faisait déjà nuit et Jésus ne les avait pas encore rejoints. 18 Un vent violent se mit à souffler, et le lac était très agité. 19 Les disciples avaient déjà parcouru cinq ou six kilomètres, quand ils virent Jésus marcher sur l’eau et s’approcher de leur bateau. L’épouvante les saisit. 20 Mais Jésus leur dit : C’est moi, n’ayez pas peur !
21 Ils voulurent alors le faire monter dans le bateau, et au même moment, ils touchèrent terre à l’endroit où ils voulaient aller.
Le pain qui fait vivre
22 Le lendemain, ceux qui étaient restés sur l’autre rive se rendirent compte qu’il n’y avait eu là qu’un seul bateau et que Jésus n’avait pas accompagné ses disciples ; ceux-ci étaient repartis seuls. 23 Entre-temps, d’autres bateaux étaient arrivés de Tibériade, près de l’endroit où toute cette foule avait été nourrie après que le Seigneur eut remercié Dieu. 24 Quand les gens virent que Jésus n’était pas là, et ses disciples non plus, ils montèrent dans ces bateaux pour aller à Capernaüm, à la recherche de Jésus.
25 Ils le trouvèrent de l’autre côté du lac et lui demandèrent : Maître, quand es-tu venu ici ?
26 Jésus leur répondit : Vraiment, je vous l’assure, si vous me cherchez, ce n’est pas parce que vous avez compris le sens de mes signes miraculeux. Non ! C’est parce que vous avez mangé du pain et que vous avez été rassasiés.
27 Travaillez, non pour la nourriture périssable, mais pour celle qui dure pour la vie éternelle. Cette nourriture, c’est le Fils de l’homme qui vous la donnera, car Dieu le Père lui en a accordé le pouvoir en le marquant de son sceau[a].
