Изцеляване във Витезда
5 След това имаше юдейски празник и Иисус отиде в Йерусалим. 2 А в Йерусалим близо до Овчата порта се намира къпалня, по еврейски наричана Витезда, която се състои от пет засводени отделения. 3 В тях лежеше голямо множество болни, слепи, куци и парализирани[a]. 5 Там имаше един човек, болен от тридесет и осем години. 6 Иисус го видя да лежи и понеже знаеше, че боледува от дълго време, попита го: „Искаш ли да оздравееш?“ 7 Болният Му отговори: „Господине, нямам си човек да ме спусне в къпалнята, когато се раздвижи водата. Докато аз отида, друг слиза преди мене.“ 8 Иисус му каза: „Стани, вдигни постелката си и ходи!“ 9 (A)Човекът веднага оздравя, вдигна постелката си и започна да ходи.
А този ден беше събота. 10 (B)Затова юдеите казаха на изцеления: „Събота е и не ти е позволено да вдигаш постелката си.“ 11 Той им отговори: „Онзи, Който ме изцели, Той ми рече: ‘Вдигни постелката си и ходи!’“ 12 (C)Попитаха го: „Кой е Човекът, Който ти рече: ‘Вдигни постелката си и ходи?’“ 13 Но изцеленият не знаеше кой е Излекувалият го, защото Иисус се беше отдръпнал поради тълпата, която беше на това място. 14 След това Иисус го намери в храма и му каза: „Ето ти оздравя! Недей греши вече, за да не те сполети нещо по-лошо.“ 15 Човекът отиде и извести на юдеите, че Иисус е, Който го изцели. 16 (D)Затова юдеите гонеха Иисус и търсеха случай да Го убият[b], понеже вършеше такива неща в събота.
17 (E)А Иисус им казваше: „Моят Отец досега работи и Аз работя.“ 18 (F)Затова юдеите още повече се стремяха да Го убият, защото не само нарушаваше съботата, но и наричаше Бога Свой Отец, като правеше Себе Си равен на Бога.
Божествената власт на Сина и Неговите дела
19 (G)Иисус отговори на упреците им така: „Истината, истината ви казвам: Синът не може да прави нищо от Себе Си, а върши само това, което види Отец да прави. Понеже онова, което Той прави, това прави също и Синът. 20 (H)Защото Отец обича Сина и Му показва всичко, което Сам Той прави. Той ще Му покаже и по-големи дела от тези, та да се чудите. 21 Защото както Отец възкресява мъртви и дава живот, така и Синът дава живот на тези, на които иска. 22 (I)Също тъй Отец Сам не съди никого, но предаде целия съд на Сина, 23 за да почитат всички Сина, както почитат Отец. Който не почита Сина, той не почита и Отец, Който Го е изпратил. 24 (J)Истината, истината ви казвам: който слуша словото Ми и вярва в Онзи, Който Ме е изпратил, има вечен живот. Той няма да дойде на съд, но е преминал от смъртта в живота.
25 Истината, истината ви казвам: идва часът и вече е дошъл, когато мъртвите ще чуят гласа на Божия Син и които го чуят, ще живеят. 26 (K)Защото както Отец има живот у Себе Си, така е дал и на Сина да има живот у Себе Си. 27 И Му е дал власт да извършва съд, защото Той е Синът човешки. 28 Недейте се чуди на това, защото идва часът, когато всички, които са в гробовете, ще чуят Неговия глас 29 (L)и ще излязат: онези, които са правили добро, ще възкръснат за живот, а които са правили зло, ще възкръснат за осъждане.
Свидетелства за Иисус Христос и Неговите дела
30 (M)Аз не мога да правя нищо от Себе Си. Както слушам, така и съдя, и Моят съд е праведен, защото не се стремя да бъде Моята воля, а волята на Отец, Който Ме е изпратил.
31 (N)Ако Аз свидетелствам за Себе Си, свидетелството Ми не е истинно. 32 Има Друг, Който свидетелства за Мене, и зная, че е истинско свидетелството, с което свидетелства за Мене. 33 (O)Вие пратихте хора при Йоан и той засвидетелства истината. 34 Аз нямам нужда от свидетелството на човек, но казвам това, за да се спасите вие. 35 Йоан беше като светилник, който гори и свети, а вие пожелахте да се радвате за кратко време на светлината му.
36 (P)Но Аз имам по-голямо свидетелство от Йоановото, защото делата, които Отец Ми даде да извърша, самите тези дела, които върша, свидетелстват за Мене, че Отец Ме е изпратил. 37 (Q)И Отец, Който Ме е изпратил, Сам свидетелства за Мене. 41 (R)Аз не търся да получа слава от хората, 42 но зная, че вие нямате у себе си любов към Бога. 43 Аз дойдох в името на Моя Отец, а не Ме приемате. Но ако друг дойде от свое име, него ще приемете. 44 Как вие можете да повярвате, когато приемате слава един от друг, а не се стремите към славата от Единствения.
45 Не мислете, че Аз ще ви обвинявам пред Отец. Има против вас обвинител – Мойсей, на когото вие се уповавате. 46 Защото ако бяхте повярвали на Мойсей, щяхте да повярвате и на Мене, понеже той за Мене писа. 47 Но ако не вярвате на неговите писания, как ще вярвате на Моите думи?“

5 Después de estas cosas había una fiesta de los judíos, y subió Jesús a Jerusalén.
2 Y hay en Jerusalén, cerca de la puerta de las Ovejas, un estanque, llamado en hebreo Betesda, el cual tiene cinco pórticos.
3 En éstos yacía una multitud de enfermos, ciegos, cojos y paralíticos, [que esperaban el movimiento del agua.
4 Porque un ángel descendía de tiempo en tiempo al estanque, y agitaba el agua; y el que primero entraba en el estanque después del movimiento del agua, quedaba sano de cualquier enfermedad que tuviese][a].
5 Y había allí un hombre que hacía treinta y ocho años que estaba enfermo.
6 Cuando Jesús lo vio tendido, y supo que llevaba ya mucho tiempo así, le dijo: ¿Quieres quedar sano?
7 Le respondió el enfermo: Señor, no tengo quien me meta en el estanque cuando se agita el agua; y entretanto que yo voy, otro desciende antes que yo.
8 Jesús le dijo: Levántate, toma tu camilla, y anda.
9 Y al instante aquel hombre quedó sano, y tomó su camilla, y echó a andar. Y era sábado aquel día.
10 Decían, pues, los judíos a aquel que había sido sanado: Es sábado; no te es lícito llevar la camilla.
11 Él les respondió: El que me sanó, él mismo me dijo: Toma tu camilla y anda.
12 Entonces le preguntaron: ¿Quién es el que te dijo: Toma tu camilla y anda?
13 Y el que había sido sanado no sabía quién era, porque Jesús se había apartado de la gente que estaba en aquel lugar.
14 Después le halló Jesús en el templo, y le dijo: Mira, ya estás sano; no peques más, para que no te suceda alguna cosa peor.
15 El hombre se fue, y les contó a los judíos que era Jesús el que le había sanado.
16 Y por esto, los judíos perseguían a Jesús, y procuraban matarle, porque hacía estas cosas en sábado.
17 Y Jesús les respondió: Hasta ahora mi Padre trabaja, y yo también trabajo.
18 Por esto, pues, procuraban más aún los judíos matarle, porque no sólo quebrantaba el sábado, sino que también decía que Dios era su propio Padre, haciéndose igual a Dios.
La autoridad del Hijo
19 Respondió entonces Jesús, y les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No puede el Hijo hacer nada por su cuenta, sino lo que ve hacer al Padre; porque todo lo que él hace, también lo hace igualmente el Hijo.
20 Porque el Padre ama al Hijo, y le muestra todo lo que él hace; y le mostrará mayores obras que éstas para que vosotros os admiréis.
21 Porque como el Padre levanta a los muertos, y les da vida, así también el Hijo da vida a los que quiere.
22 Pues ni aun el Padre juzga a nadie, sino que ha dado todo juicio al Hijo,
23 para que todos honren al Hijo como honran al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo, no honra al Padre que le envió.
24 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que oye mi palabra, y cree al que me envió, tiene vida eterna; y no vendrá a condenación, sino que ha pasado de la muerte a la vida.
25 De cierto, de cierto os digo: Llega la hora, y ahora es, cuando los muertos oirán la voz del Hijo de Dios; y los que la oigan vivirán.
26 Porque como el Padre tiene vida en sí mismo, así también le ha dado al Hijo el tener vida en sí mismo;
27 y también le dio autoridad de ejecutar juicio, por cuanto es el Hijo del Hombre.
28 No os asombréis de esto; porque va a llegar la hora en que todos los que están en los sepulcros oirán su voz;
29 y los que hicieron lo bueno, saldrán a resurrección de vida; mas los que hicieron lo malo, a resurrección de condenación.
Testigos de Cristo
30 No puedo yo hacer nada por mí mismo; según oigo, así juzgo; y mi juicio es justo, porque no busco mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió, la del Padre.
31 Si yo doy testimonio acerca de mí mismo, mi testimonio no es verdadero.
32 Otro es el que da testimonio acerca de mí, y sé que el testimonio que da de mí es verdadero.
33 Vosotros enviasteis mensajeros a Juan, y él dio testimonio de la verdad.
34 Pero yo no recibo testimonio de parte de hombre alguno; mas digo esto para que vosotros seáis salvos.
35 Él era una lámpara que ardía y alumbraba; y vosotros quisisteis regocijaros por un tiempo en su luz.
36 Mas yo tengo mayor testimonio que el de Juan; porque las obras que el Padre me dio para que las llevase a cabo, las mismas obras que yo hago, dan testimonio de mí, de que el Padre me ha enviado.
37 También el Padre que me envió ha dado testimonio de mí. Nunca habéis oído su voz, ni habéis visto su aspecto,
38 ni tenéis su palabra morando en vosotros; porque a quien él envió, vosotros no creéis.
39 Escudriñad las Escrituras, porque a vosotros os parece que en ellas tenéis la vida eterna; y ellas son las que dan testimonio de mí;
40 y no queréis venir a mí para que tengáis vida.
41 Gloria de los hombres no recibo.
42 Pero yo os conozco, que no tenéis amor de Dios en vosotros mismos.
43 Yo he venido en nombre de mi Padre, y no me recibís; si otro viene en su propio nombre, a ése recibiréis.
44 ¿Cómo podéis vosotros creer, pues recibís gloria los unos de los otros, y no buscáis la gloria que viene del Dios único?
45 No penséis que yo voy a acusaros ante el Padre; hay quien os acusa, Moisés, en quien tenéis puesta vuestra esperanza.
46 Porque si creyeseis a Moisés, me creeríais a mí, porque de mí escribió él.
47 Pero si no creéis a sus escritos, ¿cómo creeréis a mis palabras?

5 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 I receive not honour from men.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
