34 But the witness which I receive is not from man: howbeit I say these things, that ye may be saved. 35 He was the lamp that burneth and shineth; and ye were willing to rejoice for a season in his light. 36 But the witness which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given me to accomplish, the very works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

34 Not that I accept human testimony;(A) but I mention it that you may be saved.(B) 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(C) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(D) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(E)—testify that the Father has sent me.(F)
