²¹ For as the Father ^(A)raises the dead and ^(B)gives them life, so ^(C)also the Son gives life ^(D)to whom he will.

¹¹ If the Spirit of ^(A)him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus^[a] from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies ^(B)through his Spirit who dwells in you.

⁸ Why is it thought ^(A)incredible by any of you that God raises the dead?

²⁵ Jesus said to her, ^(A)“I am the resurrection and ^(B)the life.^[a] Whoever believes in me, ^(C)though he die, ^(D)yet shall he live,

¹⁴ Then he came up and touched ^(A)the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, ^(B)arise.” ¹⁵ And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus^{[a] (C)}gave him to his mother.

⁴³ When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” ^44 (A)The man who had died came out, ^(B)his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and ^(C)his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

⁵⁴ But ^(A)taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, ^(B)arise.” ⁵⁵ And ^(C)her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat.

¹⁷ as it is written, ^(A)“I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, ^(B)who gives life to the dead and calls into existence ^(C)the things that do not exist. ¹⁸ In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, ^(D)“So shall your offspring be.” ¹⁹ He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was ^(E)as good as dead (^(F)since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered ^(G)the barrenness^[a] of Sarah's womb.
