⁴² They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, ^(A)and we know that this is indeed ^(B)the Savior ^(C)of the world.”

¹⁴ And ^(A)we have seen and testify that ^(B)the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of ^(C)the world.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and ^(A)has given us understanding, so that we may know ^(B)him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and ^(C)eternal life.

¹⁰ For to this end we toil and strive,^[a] because we have our hope set on the living God, ^(A)who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

¹⁹ that is, in Christ God was reconciling^[a] the world to himself, ^(A)not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us ^(B)the message of reconciliation.

¹² And there is ^(A)salvation ^(B)in no one else, for ^(C)there is no other ^(D)name under heaven given among men^[a] by which we must be saved.”

Behold, the Lamb of God

²⁹ The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, ^(A)the Lamb of God, who ^(B)takes away the sin ^(C)of the world!

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have ^(A)the words of eternal life, ⁶⁹ and ^(B)we have believed, and have come to know, that ^(C)you are ^(D)the Holy One of God.”

¹¹ For the Scripture says, ^(A)“Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” ^12 (B)For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; ^(C)for the same Lord is Lord of all, ^(D)bestowing his riches on all who call on him. ¹³ For ^(E)“everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
