³⁸ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; ^(A)others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

⁷ This man came for a ^(A)witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might ^(B)believe.

The Sorcerer’s Sin

¹⁴ Now when the ^(A)apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, ¹⁵ who, when they had come down, prayed for them ^(B)that they might receive the Holy Spirit. ¹⁶ For ^(C)as yet He had fallen upon none of them. ^(D)They had only been baptized in ^(E)the name of the Lord Jesus. ¹⁷ Then ^(F)they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

The Fall of Jerusalem^(A)

^15 (B)And the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place.

¹¹ searching what, or what manner of time, ^(A)the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. ¹² To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to ^[a]us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which ^(B)angels desire to look into.

⁴² And ^(A)He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify ^(B)that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge ^(C)of the living and the dead. ^43 (D)To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, ^(E)whoever believes in Him will receive ^(F)remission^[a] of sins.”

³⁷ that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and ^(A)began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: ³⁸ how ^(B)God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who ^(C)went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, ^(D)for God was with Him.

Christ Is Preached in Samaria

⁴ Therefore ^(A)those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. ⁵ Then ^(B)Philip went down to ^[a]the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. ⁶ And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. ⁷ For ^(C)unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. ⁸ And there was great joy in that city.

⁷ Then ^(A)the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many ^(B)of the priests were obedient to the faith.
