¹⁴ But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.

¹⁴ For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the ^[a]Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody].

¹⁵ Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the ^[b]Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also.

¹⁸ And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.^(A)

¹⁹ Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [^[a]and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord,
