⁹ “How are these things possible?” Nicodemus asked.

Many Disciples Desert Jesus

⁶⁰ Many of his disciples said, “This is very hard to understand. How can anyone accept it?”

⁵² Then the people began arguing with each other about what he meant. “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” they asked.

³⁴ Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.”

⁴ “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”

²⁴ The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.”

²⁵ Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.
