⁶ That which is born of the flesh is ^(A)flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Walking in the Spirit

¹⁶ I say then: ^(A)Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For ^(B)the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, ^(C)so that you do not do the things that you wish. ¹⁸ But ^(D)if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

¹⁹ Now ^(E)the works of the flesh are evident, which are: ^[a]adultery, ^[b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ²¹ envy, ^[c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that ^(F)those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁴ that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who ^(A)do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ⁵ For ^(B)those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, ^(C)the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For ^(D)to be ^[a]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ⁷ Because ^(E)the ^[b]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, ^(F)nor indeed can be. ⁸ So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

²⁶ I will give you a ^(A)new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ I will put My ^(B)Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

¹⁷ Therefore, if anyone ^(A)is in Christ, he is ^(B)a new creation; ^(C)old things have passed away; behold, all things have become ^(D)new.

^47 (A)The first man was of the earth, ^(B)made^[a] of dust; the second Man is ^[b]the Lord ^(C)from heaven. ⁴⁸ As was the ^[c]man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; ^(D)and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. ⁴⁹ And ^(E)as we have borne the image of the man of dust, ^(F)we^[d] shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.

Our Final Victory

⁵⁰ Now this I say, brethren, that ^(G)flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

^17 (A)But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

¹² So God ^(A)looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for ^(B)all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

⁹ Whoever has been ^(A)born of God does not sin, for ^(B)His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
