²⁹ He who has the bride is ^(A)the groom; but the friend of the groom, who stands and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the groom’s voice. So this ^(B)joy of mine has been made full.

^9 (A)Then one of the seven angels who had the ^(B)seven bowls, ^[a]full of the ^(C)seven last plagues, came and spoke with me, saying, “^(D)Come here, I will show you the ^(E)bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

¹⁴ For all who are ^(A)being led by the Spirit of God, these are ^(B)sons and daughters of God. ¹⁵ For you ^(C)have not received a spirit of slavery ^[a]leading to fear again, but you ^(D)have received ^[b]a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “^(E)Abba! ^[c]Father!” ¹⁶ The Spirit Himself ^(F)testifies with our spirit that we are ^(G)children of God, ¹⁷ and if children, ^(H)heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, ^(I)if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

¹⁸ For I consider that the sufferings of this present time ^(J)are not worthy to be compared with the ^(K)glory that is to be revealed to us. ¹⁹ For the ^(L)eagerly awaiting creation waits for ^(M)the revealing of the ^(N)sons and daughters of God.

²⁶ For you are all ^(A)sons and daughters of God through faith in ^(B)Christ Jesus.

Sonship in Christ

4 Now I say, as long as the heir is a ^[a]child, he does not differ at all from a slave, although he is ^[b]owner of everything, ² but he is under guardians and ^[c]managers until the ^[d]date set by the father. ³ So we too, when we were children, were held ^(A)in bondage under the ^[e](B)elementary principles of the world. ⁴ But when ^(C)the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, ^(D)born of a woman, born ^(E)under ^[f]the Law, ⁵ so that He might redeem those who were under ^[g]the Law, that we might receive the adoption as ^(F)sons and daughters. ⁶ Because you are sons, ^(G)God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “^(H)Abba! ^[h]Father!”

⁸ For ^(A)by grace you have been saved ^(B)through faith; and ^[a]this is not of yourselves, it is ^(C)the gift of God; ^9 (D)not a result of works, so that ^(E)no one may boast.
