^29 (A)The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. ^(B)The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, ^(C)rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.

¹⁹ And I will betroth you to me ^(A)forever. ^(B)I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy.

^25 (A)Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and ^(B)gave himself up for her, ²⁶ that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by ^(C)the washing of water ^(D)with the word, ²⁷ so ^(E)that he might present the church to himself in splendor, ^(F)without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.^[a]

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, ^(A)“Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? ^(B)The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and ^(C)then they will fast.

⁸ “When I passed by you again and saw you, behold, you were at the age for love, and ^(A)I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness; I made my vow to you ^(B)and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord God, ^(C)and you became mine.

The New Jerusalem

⁹ Then came ^(A)one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of ^(B)the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you ^(C)the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

for the fine linen is ^(D)the righteous deeds of the saints.

⁹ And the angel said^[a] to me, “Write this: ^(E)Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, ^(F)“These are the true words of God.”

^2 (A)complete my joy by being ^(B)of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
