²⁰ For ^(A)everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

¹¹ And have ^(A)no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather ^[a]expose them. ^12 (B)For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. ¹³ But ^(C)all things that are ^[b]exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

^7 (A)The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me ^(B)because I testify of it that its works are evil.

²³ For ^(A)if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; ²⁴ for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. ²⁵ But ^(B)he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, ^(C)this one will be blessed in what he does.

⁸ So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.”

And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say such things!”
