^20 (A)For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, ^(B)lest his works should be exposed.

^11 (A)Take no part in the ^(B)unfruitful ^(C)works of darkness, but instead ^(D)expose them. ¹² For ^(E)it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. ¹³ But when ^(F)anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,

⁷ The world cannot hate you, but ^(A)it hates me because I testify about it that ^(B)its works are evil.

²³ For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. ²⁴ For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. ²⁵ But the one who looks into the perfect law, ^(A)the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, ^(B)he will be blessed in his doing.

⁸ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, Micaiah the son of Imlah, but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say so.”
