^18 (A)The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of ^(B)the only Son of God. ¹⁹ And this is the judgment, that ^(C)the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for ^(D)their deeds were evil. ^20 (E)For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed.

²³ for all ^[a](A)have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified as a gift ^(B)by His grace through ^(C)the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God displayed publicly as ^(D)a ^[b]propitiation ^[c](E)in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, ^[d]because in God’s merciful ^(F)restraint He ^(G)let the sins previously committed go unpunished;
