¹⁸ Whoever believes in him is not condemned,^(A) but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.^(B)

¹⁰ Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony.^(A) Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar,^(B) because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.

¹⁶ Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.^(A)

Life Through the Spirit

8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation^(A) for those who are in Christ Jesus,^(B)

²⁴ “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me^(A) has eternal life^(B) and will not be judged^(C) but has crossed over from death to life.^(D)

¹² Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.^(A)

³⁶ Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,^(A) but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

Peace and Hope

5 Therefore, since we have been justified^(A) through faith,^(B) we^[a] have peace^(C) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,^(D)

⁹ This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son^(A) into the world that we might live through him.^(B)

³⁴ Who then is the one who condemns?^(A) No one. Christ Jesus who died^(B)—more than that, who was raised to life^(C)—is at the right hand of God^(D) and is also interceding for us.^(E)
