¹⁶For God loved^(A) the world in this way:^[a] He gave^[b] his one and only^(B) Son,^(C) so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.^(D) ¹⁷For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn^(E) the world, but to save the world through him.
