¹⁰ Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel ^(A)and yet you do not understand these things?

²⁹ But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, ^(A)because you know neither the Scriptures nor ^(B)the power of God.

^19 (A)And I will give them one heart, and ^(B)a new spirit I will put within them. ^(C)I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh ^(D)and give them a heart of flesh,

¹⁴ Let them alone; ^(A)they are blind guides.^[a] And ^(B)if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

^25 (A)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(B)all your uncleannesses, and ^(C)from all your idols ^(D)I will cleanse you. ²⁶ And I will give you ^(E)a new heart, and ^(F)a new spirit I will put within you. ^(G)And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. ^27 (H)And I will put my Spirit within you, ^(I)and cause you to walk in my statutes and ^(J)be careful to obey my rules.^[a]

Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest

^25 (A)At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, ^(B)Lord of heaven and earth, that ^(C)you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and ^(D)revealed them to little children;

^23 (A)They shall not ^(B)defile themselves anymore ^(C)with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But ^(D)I will save them from all the backslidings^[a] in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and ^(E)they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

²⁴ “My servant ^(F)David ^(G)shall be king over them, and they shall all have ^(H)one shepherd. ^(I)They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes.

^31 (A)Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and ^(B)make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! ^(C)Why will you die, O house of Israel? ^32 (D)For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; ^(E)so turn, and live.”
