Nicodemus Visits Jesus

3 Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews.

³⁹ Nicodemus, who had at first come to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, weighing about a hundred pounds.^(A)

¹⁰ Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?

Jesus Sentenced to Death

¹³ Pilate then called together the chief priests, the leaders, and the people

⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees replied, “Surely you have not been deceived, too, have you? ⁴⁸ Has any one of the authorities or of the Pharisees believed in him?^{(A) 49} But this crowd, which does not know the law, they are accursed.” ⁵⁰ Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus^[a] before and who was one of them, asked,
