¹⁷ Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ^(A)ascended to My Father; but go to ^(B)My brethren and say to them, ^(C)‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to ^(D)My God and your God.’ ”

⁶ And because you are sons, God has sent forth ^(A)the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ^[a]“Abba, Father!” ⁷ Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, ^(B)and if a son, then an heir ^[b]of God ^[c]through Christ.

⁸ Therefore He says:

^9 (B)(Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also ^[a]first descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He who descended is also the One ^(C)who ascended far above all the heavens, ^(D)that He might fill all things.)

Sons and Heirs

²⁶ For you ^(A)are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

¹¹ For ^(A)both He who ^[a]sanctifies and those who are being sanctified ^(B)are all of one, for which reason ^(C)He is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying:

And again:

^28 (A)I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

A Heavenly Inheritance

^3 (A)Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who ^(B)according to His abundant mercy ^(C)has begotten us again to a living hope ^(D)through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

² Beloved, ^(A)now we are children of God; and ^(B)it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, ^(C)we shall be like Him, for ^(D)we shall see Him as He is.

¹⁷ that ^(A)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, ^(B)may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, ^18 (C)the eyes of your ^[a]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is ^(D)the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, ^(E)according to the working of His mighty power ²⁰ which He worked in Christ when ^(F)He raised Him from the dead and ^(G)seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, ^21 (H)far above all ^(I)principality^[b] and ^[c]power and ^[d]might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

²² And ^(J)He put all things under His feet, and gave Him ^(K)to be head over all things to the church, ^23 (L)which is His body, ^(M)the fullness of Him ^(N)who fills all in all.
