¹⁴ She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him.

⁴ At dawn Jesus was standing on the beach, but the disciples couldn’t see who he was.

¹⁶ But God kept them from recognizing him.

⁹ After Jesus rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons.

⁹ And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him.

⁵⁹ At that point they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden from them and left the Temple.

³¹ Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared!

¹² Afterward he appeared in a different form to two of his followers who were walking from Jerusalem into the country.

³⁰ but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.
