The Empty Tomb(A)

20 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene(B) went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.(C)

Jesus Has Risen(A)

24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared(B) and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.(C) While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning(D) stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:(E) ‘The Son of Man(F) must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’(G) Then they remembered his words.(H)

When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them(I) who told this to the apostles.(J)

Jesus Has Risen(A)

16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices(B) so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”(C)

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe(D) sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

64 So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body(A) and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.”

65 “Take a guard,”(B) Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal(C) on the stone(D) and posting the guard.(E)

Jesus Has Risen(F)

28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene(G) and the other Mary(H) went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake,(I) for an angel(J) of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone(K) and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.(L) The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid,(M) for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.(N) Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.(O) There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them.(P) “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers(Q) to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

On the first day of every week,(A) each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.(B)
