Miracle at Cana
2 On (A)the third day there was a wedding in (B)Cana of Galilee, and the (C)mother of Jesus was there; 2 and both Jesus and His (D)disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus *said to Him, “They have no wine.” 4 And Jesus *said to her, “[a](E)What business do you have with Me, (F)woman? (G)My hour has not yet come.” 5 His (H)mother *said to the servants, “Whatever He tells you, do it.” 6 Now there were six stone waterpots standing there (I)for the Jewish custom of purification, containing [b]two or three measures each. 7 Jesus *said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He *said to them, “Draw some out now and take it to the [c]headwaiter.” And they took it to him. 9 Now when the headwaiter tasted the water (J)which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the groom, 10 and *said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first, and when the guests (K)are drunk, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.” 11 This beginning of His [d](L)signs Jesus did in Cana of (M)Galilee, and revealed His (N)glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
12 After this He went down to (O)Capernaum, He and His (P)mother, and His (Q)brothers and His (R)disciples; and they stayed there a few days.
First Passover—Cleansing the Temple
13 (S)The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus (T)went up to Jerusalem. 14 (U)And within the temple grounds He found those who were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 And He made a whip of [e]cords, and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; 16 and to those who were selling (V)the doves He said, “Take these things away from here; stop making (W)My Father’s house a [f]place of business!” 17 His (X)disciples remembered that it was written: “(Y)Zeal for Your house will consume me.” 18 (Z)The Jews then said to Him, “(AA)What sign do You show us [g]as Your authority for doing these things?” 19 Jesus answered them, “(AB)Destroy this [h]temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 (AC)The Jews then said, “It took (AD)forty-six years to build this [i]temple, and yet You will raise it up in three days?” 21 But He was speaking about (AE)the [j]temple of His body. 22 So when He was raised from the dead, His (AF)disciples (AG)remembered that He said this; and they believed (AH)the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at (AI)the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name as they (AJ)observed His signs which He was doing. 24 But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, because (AK)He knew all people, 25 and because He did not need anyone to testify about mankind, (AL)for He Himself knew what was in mankind.

5 Mama Lui le-a zis slujitorilor: „Faceţi orice vă va spune!“ 6 Erau acolo şase vase de piatră, puse după obiceiul de curăţire al iudeilor, în fiecare încăpând două sau trei măsuri[c]. 7 Isus le-a zis: „Umpleţi vasele cu apă!“ Şi ei le-au umplut până sus. 8 El le-a mai zis: „Acum scoateţi din ele şi duceţi-i mai-marelui ospăţului!“ Şi ei i-au dus. 9 Mai-marele ospăţului a gustat apa care fusese făcută vin – el nu ştia de unde este, însă slujitorii care scoseseră apa ştiau – l-a chemat pe mire şi i-a zis: 10 „Orice om pune la masă mai întâi vinul cel bun, iar după ce oaspeţii au băut mult, îl pune pe cel mai puţin bun. Tu însă ai ţinut vinul cel bun până acum!“
11 Isus a făcut acest început al semnelor[d] Lui în Cana Galileii şi Şi-a arătat slava, iar ucenicii Lui au crezut în El.
Isus curăţă Templul
12 După aceea S-a coborât la Capernaum împreună cu mama, fraţii şi ucenicii Lui, şi acolo n-au rămas decât câteva zile.
13 Paştele iudeilor era aproape şi Isus S-a suit la Ierusalim. 14 I-a găsit în Templu[e] pe cei care vindeau boi, oi şi porumbei şi pe schimbătorii de bani[f] stând la mesele lor. 15 A făcut un bici din frânghii şi i-a scos pe toţi afară din Templu, împreună cu oile şi boii lor. A împrăştiat monedele schimbătorilor de bani şi le-a răsturnat mesele, 16 iar celor ce vindeau porumbei le-a zis: „Ridicaţi acestea de aici! Nu faceţi din Casa Tatălui Meu o casă de negoţ!“ 17 Ucenicii Lui şi-au adus aminte că este scris: „Râvna pentru Casa Ta Mă mistuie!“[g] 18 Atunci iudeii I-au zis:
– Prin ce semn ne arăţi că ai dreptul să faci acestea?
19 Isus le-a răspuns:
– Dărâmaţi acest Templu, şi în trei zile îl voi ridica!
20 Iudeii I-au zis:
– Au trebuit patruzeci şi şase de ani ca să fie construit Templul[h] acesta, şi Tu-l vei ridica în trei zile?!
21 El însă vorbea despre Templul trupului Său. 22 Atunci când El a fost înviat dintre cei morţi, ucenicii Lui şi-au amintit că spusese aceste vorbe şi au crezut Scripturile şi cuvântul pe care-l spusese Isus.
23 Pe când Isus era în Ierusalim, în timpul Sărbătorii Paştelui, mulţi au crezut în Numele Lui, văzând semnele pe care le făcea. 24 Dar Isus nu se încredea în ei, pentru că îi cunoştea pe toţi 25 şi nu avea nevoie ca cineva să facă mărturisiri despre vreun om, fiindcă El Însuşi ştia ce era în om.

Water Turned to Wine
2 On the third day there was a (A)wedding in (B)Cana of Galilee, and the (C)mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 Jesus said to her, (D)“Woman, (E)what does your concern have to do with Me? (F)My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, (G)according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9 When the master of the feast had tasted (H)the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 This (I)beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, (J)and [a]manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
12 After this He went down to (K)Capernaum, He, His mother, (L)His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.
Jesus Cleanses the Temple(M)
13 (N)Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 (O)And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers [b]doing business. 15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. 16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make (P)My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” 17 Then His disciples remembered that it was written, (Q)“Zeal for Your house [c]has eaten Me up.”
18 So the Jews answered and said to Him, (R)“What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”
19 Jesus answered and said to them, (S)“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
21 But He was speaking (T)of the temple of His body. 22 Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, (U)His disciples remembered that He had said this [d]to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.
The Discerner of Hearts
23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the (V)signs which He did. 24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He (W)knew all men, 25 and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for (X)He knew what was in man.
