⁵ His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

The Faith of Abraham

⁸ By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to set out for a place that he was to receive as an inheritance, and he set out, not knowing where he was going.^(A)

⁵ Simon answered, “Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets.”^{(A) 6} When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets were beginning to burst.

⁹ and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,^(A)

⁶ But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”

The Two Foundations

⁴⁶ “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I tell you?^{(A) 47} I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, hears my words, and acts on them.^{(B) 48} That one is like a man building a house who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when a flood arose, the river burst against that house but could not shake it because it had been well built.^{[a] 49} But the one who hears and does not act is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against it, it quickly collapsed, and great was the ruin of that house.”

¹⁴ She may not eat of anything that comes from the vine. She is not to drink wine or strong drink or eat any unclean thing. She is to observe everything that I commanded her.”^(A)
