The Discerner of Hearts

²³ Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the ^(A)signs which He did.

¹³ But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of ^[a]temptation fall away.

¹⁴ Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly ^(A)the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

¹⁶ that He would grant you, ^(A)according to the riches of His glory, ^(B)to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in ^(C)the inner man, ^17 (D)that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, ^(E)being rooted and grounded in love,

⁶ For ^(A)in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but ^(B)faith working through love.

³¹ And ^(A)many of the people believed in Him, and said, “When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than these which this Man has done?”

³⁰ As He spoke these words, ^(A)many believed in Him.

The Truth Shall Make You Free

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you ^(B)abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

^2 (A)This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for ^(B)no one can do these signs that You do unless ^(C)God is with him.”

Jesus Cleanses the Temple^(A)

^13 (B)Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

¹⁶ These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; ¹⁷ and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.
