¹⁷ His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”^[a](A)

³⁴ “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will^(A) of him who sent me and to finish his work.^(B)

³⁸ For I have come down from heaven^(A) not to do my will but to do the will^(B) of him who sent me.^(C)

⁴ As long as it is day,^(A) we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
