14 And (A)the Word (B)became flesh, and [a](C)dwelt among us, and (D)we beheld His glory, glory as of the [b]only begotten from the Father, full of (E)grace and (F)truth. 15 John *(G)bore witness about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘(H)He who comes after me [c]has been ahead of me, (I)for He existed before me.’” 16 For of His (J)fullness [d]we have all received, and grace [e]upon grace. 17 For (K)the Law was given through Moses; (L)grace and (M)truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 (N)No one has seen God at any time; (O)the only begotten God who is (P)in the bosom of the Father, (Q)He has explained Him.

14 And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son,[a] full of grace and truth.(A) 15 (John testified to him and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks ahead of me because he was before me.’ ”) 16 From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.[b](B) 17 The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.(C) 18 No one has ever seen God.
