^9 (A)He entered his headquarters again and said to Jesus, ^(B)“Where are you from?” But ^(C)Jesus gave him no answer.

My Kingdom Is Not of This World

^33 (A)So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him, ^(B)“Are you the King of the Jews?”

²⁸ and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is ^(A)a clear sign to them of their destruction, but ^(B)of your salvation, and that from God.

³² Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this:

³⁷ Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, ^(A)“You say that I am a king. ^(B)For this purpose I was born and for this purpose ^(C)I have come into the world—^(D)to bear witness to the truth. ^(E)Everyone who is ^(F)of the truth ^(G)listens to my voice.”

²⁹ We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, ^(A)we do not know where he comes from.” ³⁰ The man answered, “Why, this is ^(B)an amazing thing! ^(C)You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes.

¹⁴ Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness about myself, ^(A)my testimony is true, for I know ^(B)where I came from and ^(C)where I am going, but ^(D)you do not know where I come from or where I am going.

³ And the chief priests accused him of many things. ⁴ And Pilate again asked him, ^(A)“Have you no answer to make? See how many charges they bring against you.” ⁵ But Jesus ^(B)made no further answer, so that Pilate was amazed.

^12 (A)But when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he gave no answer. ¹³ Then Pilate said to him, ^(B)“Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?” ¹⁴ But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.
