⁴⁰ So they took the body of Jesus and ^(A)bound it in ^(B)linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.

^44 (A)The man who had died came out, ^(B)his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and ^(C)his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

⁶ The young men rose and ^(A)wrapped him up and carried him out and buried him.

⁵ And stooping to look in, he saw ^(A)the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. ⁶ Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, ⁷ and ^(B)the face cloth, which had been on Jesus'^[a] head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself.

¹² But ^(A)Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw ^(B)the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.
