^39 (B)“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

¹⁹ And because of the majesty that He gave him, ^(A)all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he ^(B)executed; whomever he wished, he kept alive; whomever he wished, he set up; and whomever he wished, he put down.

¹⁴ Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the gold image which I have set up? ¹⁵ Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, ^(A)good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. ^(B)And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?”
