^32 (A)This was to fulfill the word that Jesus had spoken ^(B)to show by what kind of death he was going to die.

¹⁴ And ^(A)as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man ^(B)be lifted up,

^2 (A)“You know that after two days ^(B)the Passover is coming, and ^(C)the Son of Man ^(D)will be delivered up to be crucified.”

¹⁹ and ^(A)deliver him over to the Gentiles ^(B)to be mocked and flogged and ^(C)crucified, and he will be raised on ^(D)the third day.”

³² And I, ^(A)when I am lifted up from the earth, ^(B)will draw ^(C)all people to myself.” ³³ He said this ^(D)to show by what kind of death he was going to die.

³² For he will be ^(A)delivered over to the Gentiles and will be ^(B)mocked and shamefully treated and ^(C)spit upon. ³³ And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on ^(D)the third day he will rise.”

²⁸ So Jesus said to them, “When you have ^(A)lifted up the Son of Man, ^(B)then you will know that ^(C)I am he, and that ^(D)I do nothing on my own authority, but ^(E)speak just as the Father taught me.

³³ saying, “See, ^(A)we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will ^(B)condemn him to death and ^(C)deliver him over to the Gentiles.

^23 (A)his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for ^(B)a hanged man is cursed by God. ^(C)You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance.
