³¹ Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.”

Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

¹⁵ But they cried out, “Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!”

Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?”

The chief priests answered, ^(A)“We have no king but Caesar!”

^6 (A)Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”

Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

⁷ The Jews answered him, ^(B)“We have a law, and according to ^[a]our law He ought to die, because ^(C)He made Himself the Son of God.”

¹⁸ When the accusers stood up, they brought no accusation against him of such things as I ^[a]supposed, ^19 (A)but had some questions against him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, who had died, whom Paul affirmed to be alive. ²⁰ And because I was uncertain of such questions, I asked whether he was willing to go to Jerusalem and there be judged concerning these matters.

²⁶ thus says the Lord God:

⁴ For the children of Israel shall abide many days ^(A)without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ^(B)ephod or ^(C)teraphim. ⁵ Afterward the children of Israel shall return and ^(D)seek the Lord their God and ^(E)David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the ^(F)latter days.
