John 18:21-23
New International Version
21 Why question me? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said.”
22 When Jesus said this, one of the officials(A) nearby slapped him in the face.(B) “Is this the way you answer the high priest?” he demanded.
23 “If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?”(C)

22 And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by (B)struck[a] Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?”
23 Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”
