¹³ First they took him to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year.^(A)

²⁴ Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.^(A)

⁵¹ He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus was about to die for the nation,

² during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.^(A)

Jesus before the High Priest

⁵⁷ Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had gathered.

³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the courtyard of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,^(A)

⁶ with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John,^[a] and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family.^(A)
