17 Nakon što je to rekao, Isus je podigao pogled prema nebu i rekao: »Oče, došlo je vrijeme. Proslavi svoga Sina, da bi tvoj Sin mogao proslaviti tebe. 2 Dao si mu vlast nad svim ljudima da bi on mogao dati vječni život svima koje si mu dao. 3 A vječni je život upoznati tebe, jedinog pravoga Boga i Isusa Krista kojeg si poslao. 4 Ja sam tebe proslavio na Zemlji. Izvršio sam djelo koje si mi povjerio da učinim. 5 Sada mi ti, Oče, daj onu slavu koju sam imao kod tebe prije postanka svijeta.
6 Otkrio sam tvoje ime onima koje si mi dao iz svijeta. Bili su tvoji. Dao si ih meni i držali su tvoje učenje. 7 Sada znaju da sve što si mi dao potječe od tebe. 8 Ja sam im dao učenje, koje si mi ti dao, i oni su ga prihvatili. Doista su shvatili da potječem od tebe i povjerovali su da si me ti poslao. 9 Ja molim za njih. Ne molim za svijet, već za one koje si mi ti dao jer pripadaju tebi. 10 Sve što pripada meni, pripada i tebi. Sve što pripada tebi, pripada i meni. Moja je slava vidljiva u njima. 11 Ja više nisam u svijetu, ali oni jesu. Ja dolazim k tebi, Sveti Oče, a njih zaštiti snagom svoga imena koje si mi dao. Neka i oni budu jedno poput nas. 12 Dok sam bio s njima, čuvao sam ih snagom tvog imena, koje si mi dao, i sačuvao sam ih. Ni jedan se nije izgubio, osim onoga osuđenog na propast, da se ispuni Sveto pismo.
13 Sada ja dolazim k tebi. Ali ovo molim dok sam još na svijetu, da bi oni mogli imati istinsku radost koju ja imam. 14 Ja sam im prenio tvoje učenje. Svijet ih je mrzio jer ne pripadaju svijetu, baš kao što ni ja ne pripadam svijetu. 15 Ja te ne molim da ih uzmeš sa svijeta, nego da ih sačuvaš od Zloga. 16 Oni ne pripadaju svijetu, baš kao što ni ja ne pripadam svijetu. 17 Istinom ih pripremi da ti služe. Tvoje je učenje istina. 18 Kao što si ti mene poslao u svijet, tako sam i ja njih poslao u svijet. 19 Ja se predajem da ti služim, radi njih, da bi i oni bili uistinu predani služenju tebi.
20 Ali ja ne molim samo za njih nego i za one koji će vjerovati u mene po njihovom poučavanju. 21 Tako će svi biti jedno. Baš kao što si ti, Oče, u meni i ja u tebi. Neka i oni budu u nama, da svijet povjeruje da si me ti poslao. 22 Predao sam im slavu koju si mi dao, tako da i oni budu jedno, kao što smo mi jedno. 23 Ja ću biti u njima, a ti u meni. Tako će i oni postati doista jedno. A svijet će vidjeti da si me ti poslao i da si njih volio kao što si volio mene.
24 Oče, htio bih da oni koje si mi dao budu sa mnom, da vide slavu koju si mi dao. Jer, ti si me volio prije postanka svijeta. 25 Oče pravedni, svijet te ne poznaje, ali ja te poznajem. I oni znaju da si me ti poslao. 26 Ja sam im pokazao kakav si i dalje ću im pokazivati. Tako će ljubav kojom ti voliš mene biti u njima i ja ću biti u njima.«

17 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Jesus Prays for Himself
17 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, (A)the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 (B)as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He [a]should give eternal life to as many (C)as You have given Him. 3 And (D)this is eternal life, that they may know You, (E)the only true God, and Jesus Christ (F)whom You have sent. 4 (G)I have glorified You on the earth. (H)I have finished the work (I)which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together [b]with Yourself, with the glory (J)which I had with You before the world was.

6 (K)“I have [c]manifested Your name to the men (L)whom You have given Me out of the world. (M)They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8 For I have given to them the words (N)which You have given Me; and they have received them, (O)and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that (P)You sent Me.
9 “I pray for them. (Q)I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10 And all Mine are Yours, and (R)Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 (S)Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, (T)keep[d] through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one (U)as We are. 12 While I was with them [e]in the world, (V)I kept them in [f]Your name. Jesus Prays for All Believers
20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who [j]will believe in Me through their word; 21 (AG)that they all may be one, as (AH)You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the (AI)glory which You gave Me I have given them, (AJ)that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; (AK)that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
24 (AL)“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; (AM)for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father! (AN)The world has not known You, but (AO)I have known You; and (AP)these have known that You sent Me. 26 (AQ)And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love (AR)with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
